WOW! What a terrific and exciting game last night between the defending champs Naciones Unidas and the new team to the league Suchi Stars. It was a championship caliber game if there ever was one. To make a long story short, suffice it to say that Suchi Stars was down by two points with 12 seconds left in regulation and with Naciones Unidas having possession of the ball. The emotions must have gotten the best of NU because instead of holding on to the ball to get fouled, they attempted to go for the kill by taking a hard drive to the basket. They missed and committed a foul in the process. Suchi Stars went to the foul line and hit its two free throws to tie the game at 41. NU inbounded the pass only to have the ball stolen from them. A few passes between Suchi players and suddenly the ball flies through the air in a shot that would have made Michael Jordan proud. Swish! Two points at the buzzer to end the game and give NU its first defeat of the season. Remember that NU accomplished what the Patriots couldn't accomplish last year...a perfect undefeated season. I can't wait for the rematch...November 28th! Mark your calendars.
